{"id":6996,"date":"2025-03-11T19:32:10","date_gmt":"2025-03-11T19:32:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.b-on.pt\/?p=6996"},"modified":"2025-12-02T15:51:12","modified_gmt":"2025-12-02T15:51:12","slug":"fcts-new-open-access-policy-promotes-the-visibility-of-scientific-research-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.b-on.pt\/en\/news\/fcts-new-open-access-policy-promotes-the-visibility-of-scientific-research-results\/","title":{"rendered":"FCT&#8217;s new Open Access Policy promotes the visibility of scientific research results"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>FCT&#8217;s new Open Access Policy<\/strong> was published, which promotes the visibility of scientific research results and reinforces transparency and knowledge dissemination. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) has adopted a new\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fct.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Politica-Acesso-Aberto-FCT.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Open Access Policy<\/a>, making it compulsory for scientific publications resulting from research it has funded to be made available in open access.\u00a0<strong>The policy came into force on February 7<\/strong>\u00a0and applies to scientific articles, books, book chapters and monographs, as well as doctoral theses and master&#8217;s dissertations.\u00a0\u00a0<br>The launch is accompanied by the creation of a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acessoaberto.fct.pt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">support <em>website<\/em><\/a>, which aims to help researchers comply with the Policy and guide them through the necessary steps up to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fct.pt\/sobre\/estudos-e-planeamento-estrategico\/politicas-de-ciencia-aberta\/acesso-aberto-a-publicacoes-cientificas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Open Access<\/a>\u00a0publication.
