Accepted Manuscript – is the version of the article accepted for publication including all changes made as a result of the peer review process.
APC (article processing charge) – A fee paid to the publisher to make an article free at point of access
Corresponding author – For the publisher this is the author that submits the publication. This can per publication only be one person.
Gold Open Access – see Golden road
Hybrid – a hybrid open access journal is a subscription journal in which some of the articles are open access. This status typically requires the payment of a publication fee to the publisher.
Pre-print – is the version of the article before peer review or editing, as submitted by an author to the journal
Pos-print – is the peer reviewed, edited, formatted and typeset version of the article
Golden road – the author or author institution can pay a fee to the publisher at publication time, the publisher thereafter making the material available ‘free’ at the point of access.
Green road – The green road is based on self archiving. After publication the author uploads the article to a repository, hereby making the publication open access to the rest of the world. Publishers may demand an embargo period, during which access is restricted
