ACS – Publishing conditions 2026

• Eligibility​
  • Responsible corresponding author affiliated to a b-on member institution with access to ACS¹ at article acceptance.
  • Eligible article types: all articles with some exceptions such as eBooks and additions or corrections or editorials; ​
  • Article accepted for publication after January 1st 2026 and before December 31^st 2026;​
• Publication route
  • Hybrid journals: up to 112 articles in 2026 in ACS hybrid journals from this list;​
  • GOA Journals: not included in this agreement.

• How to benefit from OA conditions:​​
  1. Submit article;
  2. Identify/confirm institution of affiliation¹;
  3. On acceptance, ACS notifies the author of the eligibility for open access publication under the b-on agreement;
  4. Follow the OA workflow steps;

¹ Authors must choose their affiliation from the dropdown options to ensure the institution triggers the agreement eligibility on the platform.
