Many publications require the authors to transfer copyright towards the publications, however, are becoming increasingly the titles in “open access” and does not require this transfer of rights. Publishers should clearly express its position on the issue of transfer of copyright.
According to the legislation, the copyright covers rights and patrimonial character of personal rights, moral rights. In exercise of patrimonial status, the author has the exclusive right to dispose of his work and use it, and to authorize its use by third parties, in whole or in part. Regardless of the economic rights, and even after their transmission or extinction, the author enjoys moral rights in their work, including the right to assert their paternity and ensure its genuineness and integrity.
If your work / report is based on interviews, you should ask the participants (towards their protection), a written document that authorizes the use of their contributions for the purpose of your project.
